Kim Alpert is one of the most exciting artists to be working with multimedia materials on the international scene.  This performance on Option will be unique for the series, mixing Kim's real-time video synthesis and feedback, with movement and sonic artist components.  Afterward, Kim will discuss her creative history and ideas with Ken Vandermark.

Voice & Movement workshop with Jaap Blonk & Jonathan Meyer

Using a combination of exercises, games, structures, and solo/group interactions, this 2-day workshop explores extending the voice and the body. The approach of Blonk and Meyer does not limit these explorations to conventional notions of singing or dance, but opens the boundaries to include speech, phonemic experiments, kinetics, pose, etc. Participants with either voice or movement experience are welcome, at all levels of expertise, but with a willingness to experiment. The workshop will culminate in a public performance on March 11 at 8PM at ESS.
