ESS is pleased to present a free afternoon concert in the garden by two groups of improvisers: the Jeff Kowalkowski Trio (with Harrison Bankhead, bass; Avreeayl Ra, drums), and Dos Hongos (Marc Riordan, piano; Jacob Wick, trumpet). The concert, open to the public, is also the final stop on the West Edgewater Area Residents annual Garden Walk.
Benjamin Chaffee has constructed three lamp boxes. Both physical support and environmental lighting, the boxes resemble plinths on wheels. For this exhbition the boxes will be installed upside-down hanging from above, their caster wheels inverted toward the ceiling.
Experimental Sound Studio is having a fundraiser on APRIL 30TH AT 8PM at Logan Square cocktail & music destination The Whistler. Performers include cornetist Rob Mazurek's new ensemble Screaming Planet, featuring Mazurek on cornet, Jeff Kowalkowski (piano), The Eternals' Damon Locks (voice), and percussionist Carrie Biolo. Avant-rock outfit Health&Beauty will also perform. There will be a raffle and silent auction for goods and services from Shure, ESS, various recording artists, screen printers and more.
